I like the concept. I like Wale. I mean, how can't you? Dude references Zack Morris, Lindsey Lohan, Kanye West, SIM cards, creatine, Moet, marlin fishing & Lisa Turtle. That's a pretty good spectrum in my book.
Hey. What's up? What do you think of this song? Kind of weird right? But you can't stop listening to it. Right? This is dialogue between my ears and my brain. It's an interesting one. This track is interesting as well. Extremely repetitive yet effective. Extremely repetitive yet effective. Extremely repetitive yet effective. Get it? I'm done.
Stone cold groove. First thing that comes to mind when I hear this track. No lyrics, just awesome grooves and basslines. It's solid. I almost get a feeling of Bowie in the building.
This came out about a month ago, and I totally slept on it. Actually, to be honest I didn't even like it the first time i heard it. Maybe hearing it on a 100 foot yacht in Newport this past weekend changed my sentiments. Whatever the case may be I'm now into it, and you should be too. And as for the yacht, if you have the means I highly recommend it.
Tiesto - Feel It In My Bones (Feat. Tegan & Sarah)
If you took Phoenix & Daft Punk, put them in a blender and poured a shot of 1987 in with it this is what you would get: I Heart Sharks. I Heart Sharks also is the best band name I have heard in years. This is a week late though since last week was shark week (best week of the year). Anyways, I'm liking this tune. Put on your wolf tee and respect the shark.
Yuksek isn't new to the most definitely. Supermenz, we are not is. Grammatically that doesn't make any sense. But, this track most definitely does. And somehow this slipped through the cracks. A classically trained pianist from France, Yuksek has been gaining steady street cred for the past couple of years and it's easy to see why. He cranks out bangers. As evidenced here. Most definitely press play.
MSTRKRFT has been relatively quiet in my world. But they are coming back with vengeance with this A-Team theme mix. Awesome stuff we've come to expect out of them. Just another straight banger. They'll be making the National Team. Please note the Apache sample going on in the background. Solid.
Holy Sh*t. I can't say much else because my face melted off. Tough to beat the Godfathers at their own song, but Parisian remix master AlphaBreak may have just done that. Please God, just let the whole Tron soundtrack come out and ensuing worldwide tour. I'd literally give up a limb to see them.
Human Life is out of Los Angeles. Grum is back in the mix once again and is clearly the front-runner for posts over here at the most definitely headquarters. I think the Guardian said it best so I'm just going to quote it: “If Prince & Dave Gahan had a baby, in Paris, in 90's, that kid might now be making music like this. In LA. At night” - Guardian - 'New Band of the Day'
Passion Pit is great. Penguin Prison is great. What a great idea: Penguin Prison meet Passion Pit; Passion Pit - Penguin Prison. It's GOLD. I thoroughly enjoy this remix on a number of levels. One, it's a total take off from the original track, including the vocals. It completely reshapes the song and I like it. Nice and soft and soothing. All in all, a beautiful effort. We'll most definitely listen.
Passion Pit - Little Secrets (Penguin Prison Remix)
Mike Posner is blowing up. He's like the love child of Sam Adams and Justin Timberlake. I want to dislike the guy, but he's pretty good. It's what I call a problem. But I'm going to relent, and give the dude his credit. I gave him a look last week, and I've got to give him another look this week.
This track is solid. Love the guitar in the background. Sounds like a chord progression from the Cure or something along those lines. I can't place it, but I'm going to go ahead and say I like any hip hop artist that can sample The Cure.
Robyn is a badass. This keeps up that rep without a doubt. She's also Swedish, and pretty sexy. These are all things I would consider interesting and positive. And Snoop might be at his best since Doggystyle.
We are firing on all cylinders lately here at the most definitely. And so are these guys. Everything Everything hails from Manchester, UK. And they're making some catchy unconventional pop music. And Grum is back. Doing his thing. I like this track, in a very retro way.
Good music is all arouond today. It's gorgeous out and we've got some fresh new tracks to beef up your Monday. Pretty Lights keeps servin it up. Unconventional style wins out on this track and keeps the party going. I like where they're headed.
So, we here at the most definitely have a thing for daft punk. And when I say a thing, I mean a big fucking thing. So when we found out that the entire score of "Tron" had been leaked, we freaked. So much so that I couldn't post it until now. We've been listening straight through the weekend. And we apologize for not getting it to you sooner. But shit happens when you party naked.
Now people are going back and forth as to the legitimacy of these new tracks. But it almost doesn't matter because they are pretty much amazing regardless of who produced them. So, I'm going to hope it's daft punk and even if it's not, whoever did produce them should come forward. So, without further ado, we present, 10 minutes of brand fucking new daft punk or something like it. And that's fun. And maybe your Monday will be a little bit better with that. This is basically a one track mix of all of snippets of the entire score for the film. It's such a teaser but it's better than nothing and it sounds like they've come out of the lab with some solid new face melting material.
