As soon as this hit my inbox I was excited. For many reasons. Mainly three: 1 - Every rework from these guys is always a total banger. 2: Daft Punk, not much more to say there. 3: The Weeknd is definitely worth a listen on his own right with his beautiful gangster rap as I like to call it. The Black Keys had an album come out this year. So did Big Boi. Both of them were exceptional. Next logical step. Mash them up.  The Black Keys got that soul. And Big Boi, well, Big Boi just about got it all. Tracks to look out for in particular, tracks 3, 5 and 7. Track 5 being a mashup of the each of their respective strongest tracks off of their albums. I don't want to come off as a mashup guy, but 2010 might have to go down as the year of the mashup. A combination of technology and a blending of genres has made just about everything accessible. I think in the end, we'll be the better for it. Rock on.

It's free. It's easy. One of the more anticipated albums of the year. Girl Talk is one of those artists that comes along once in a blue moon. You can't imagine what life was like without him. And you can't get enough of it. And all you want to do is just scream from the rooftops. The world needs more people like Gregg Gillis. A former chemical engineer, decided that lap top dance parties were the way to go. Thank god he did.

I'm not sure when this song is appropriate to play, but I'm thinking when you just need to turn the speakers to 11 will do just fine.

Hoodie Allen is a New York based hip hop duo made up of Steve Witz and Obey City, two white boys from Long Island. They are releasing a mini-mixtape called The Diamond Cuts which features samples from Marina & The Diamond’s 2009 Release, The Family Jewels. Steve Witz's flow is pretty solid for a white boy and his wordplay is witty, which i can respect and Obey City serves up some solid backing beats for you to nod your head to. Anyways, its a pretty solid effort. Check it out.

I'm late on this, but I haven't looked at a TV or computer since Friday, turns out I didn't have wifi access on the yacht this weekend. Anyways, Kid Cudi is a funny dude. He's got a pretty dope style too. At first glance, I thought this one was a no brainer, I love Cudi, and it's apparent I've got some love for lcd soundsystem as well. So, Cudi took what I think is the best track off the new lcd soundsystem album and puts his own spin on it. Christian Bale's terminator freak out at the beginning may seem a bit cheesy at first, but it's kind of funny too. And that's kind of why I like Cudi, cause he doesn't take himself too seriously. And you shouldn't either.

Notorious B.I.G. vs Aloe Blacc (Juicy Dollars)

If you're a fan of the HBO show How To Make It In America, then you'll know this tune from Aloe Blacc. It's a pretty solid throwback to the Bill Withers era. In fact when I first heard it, I thought it was Bill Withers. Well, now it gets mashed up Biggy Smalls' Juicy and the result is pretty solid. It's almost like it was meant to be.

OK. Maybe MGMT has been played out. I get that. But, what about a mash up between Bob Marley, Daft Punk and MGMT? Can't think that you've heard that yet. Anyway, this is not incredibly new, but it's new to me and most likely you too. So I'm gonna call this a throwback. Very well done all around. So, there's that.
