Get Your Gas In Greenpoint
So I took a field trip to Greenpoint. Moral of the story: Get your gas in Greenpoint. Not because it's cheap, but because the gas stations are stuck in 1970 in every way except price per gallon.

Bruins Win The Stanley Cup
We don't normally talk major sports here at TMD. But today is an exception. The Boston Bruins won Lord Stanley's Cup, the most hallowed trophy in all of sports. I won't harp on it too much, but I feel like a kid today. All smiles. I'm still in shock really.
Anyways, the citizens of Vancouver decided it would be a sharp idea to riot and burn down their city after the loss. This photo was caught amidst those riots. A great picture and by far the best picture from the aftermath.
UPDATE: More photos of the destruction. This one caught my eye:
Check out an amazing gallery here:

Tea & Strunpets
Check out this site: Tea & Strumpets. Just a stunning collection of photography really. This one happens to be of a woman's bum. That is not necessarily representative of the rest of the collection, however, I used my judgement and deemed it fitting. Whatever.

Be Somebody
I guess it's art?? Either way I can't stop watching. It's actually from a book called Try-Ons by Clay Weiner. In which he plays a variety of characters and genders for that matter. Very well done. Thanks Streeter

The Drums - Music Hall of Williamsburg
So Beach Fossils played the Music Hall of Williamsburg on Friday. Surprise special opener The Drums did too. They blew Beach Fossils out of the water. I haven't seen an opener upstage a "headliner" that badly in a long time. Not to take anything away from the Beach Fossils. They were great too. It was just the Drums were that much better. Their energy was amazing while they ripped through their short set and you could just tell that they are entertainers. The Drums' lead singer Jonathan Pierce is truly a showman. He is a hybrid of Mick Jagger and Anthony Michael Hall. He contorts and slithers around the stage in the same outfit that I wore in 1987 when i lived in Orlando and got my school picture taken with the laser background setting. Yep. I got that one.
I don't know if this was a review, a story or an observation. Either way, it just happened.

Stephen Mallon - New York
Stephen Mallon is an industrial photographer. And he's been following the MTA's reef program for the past 3 years. If you don't know what the MTA's reef program is, you're probably not alone. The Metropolitan Transit Authority’s recycling program has been involved for the past decade, retiring over 2500 subways cars to the ocean to help rebuild underwater reefs along the eastern seabed. Anyways, these are his photos. They cool. Check more out here Stephen Mallon

Back To The Future - Irina Werning
A very cool project by Irina Werning. Taking old photos and their subjects, revisiting and recreating them decades later. The results are rather interesting. Check out more here: Irina Werning - Back to the Future

Photos For Friday
Stumbled upon a really cool photo site for you to check out. Feature Shoot is run by photographer, photo editor and curator Alison Zavos and showcases work from up-and-coming photographers alongside established photographers who have completed a project or whose work has taken on a new direction. The site covers commercial and fine art photography. Anyways, check it out. It's got some really awesome work.
Also check out Neil Krug's work: very cool.
