Goldroom - Morgan's Bay
Hell. Yes. God do we need this right now. Automatic smiles. If Yacht Rock were to come back today with a new updated and rebooted sound, this is it. Pure unadulterated sexy. Goldroom is a side project from Binary Entertainment head honcho Josh Legg. You've heard some other Binary tunes on here. Namely Flashlights and NightWaves. But this is spot on. Just nails it. The intro sounds a bit like Aeroplane's "We Can't Fly". Then that guitar comes in and it's just time to throw off the bow lines and sail away. Float on.

Local Natives - Who Knows, Who Cares (Remix)
Thanks Josh. This came across the newsdesk just now. It needed to be posted immediately. We're no strangers to the Local Natives. Hell, we're not even strangers to Local Natives remixes. But this one is new to us. Short, simple and sweet. Check it out.

Tapes 'n Tapes - Badaboom
These guys are out of Minneapolis, Minnesota and have surprisingly been around since 2003. New to my radar screen. TCC (Tony Coffee Cakes) has been knocking the ball out of the park lately. And this is another stellar pick. Love everything about this jam. Most specifically the guitar at the end. Just a solid exclamation point on a solid solid tune. Enjoy. It's pretty addictive.

Young the Giant - Apartment
These guys are solid. You've heard "My Body" in the background at the bar. Now, the latest single off their latest album. They are blowing up. Lead singer Sameer Gadhia has a deliciously raspy voice that is surprisingly powerful and the Irvine, California based band is making its way up the ranks. You will certainly be hearing more from them.

Bruins Win The Stanley Cup
We don't normally talk major sports here at TMD. But today is an exception. The Boston Bruins won Lord Stanley's Cup, the most hallowed trophy in all of sports. I won't harp on it too much, but I feel like a kid today. All smiles. I'm still in shock really.
Anyways, the citizens of Vancouver decided it would be a sharp idea to riot and burn down their city after the loss. This photo was caught amidst those riots. A great picture and by far the best picture from the aftermath.
UPDATE: More photos of the destruction. This one caught my eye:

Martin Solveig - The Night Out
Parisian producer Martin Solveig is back at it again following up his unmistakeably catchy "Hello" with this joint. Surely to be on repeat for the remainder of the summer.

Cut Copy - Lights and Music (Moulinex Remix)
So this one really slipped through the cracks on me. I mean, Cut Copy has been around, and Lights and Music was on my radar a couple years ago, but this remix just went right past the goalie. This is an absolute stunner. Caught me right off the bat, and grabbed a hold and wouldn't let go. This is one that you bring the house down with. This is where things go to eleven. This just has that certain something that puts people into a frenzy. This is what it means to peak. Enjoy it. And then play it again.

125# - Sark
What happens when you put Daft Punk, Harold Faltermeyer and Jan Hammer into a blender? You get 125#. Odd name? Yes. But solid throwback synths to score any 80's movie. Can't even get a picture of these guys.

Pryda - M.S.B.O.Y.
This is it. The opening track on the soundtrack to my yet to be produced snowboard film. Also known as a floorgasm. Also known as a banger. It's not new, but I hadn't heard this until Saturday. It doesn't really matter. I can just see it now. Enjoy.

“The funny thing about fairy tales, is that we forget about them so fast
And we grow up, we buy things, we build up fences
We sell our innocence and forget our dreams
We forget who we are in order to be something we’re not
And we’ll keep believing in this so called truths, until we forget how to live
Or until we open our eyes, and wake up.”

Eddie Vedder - Can't Keep - Video
Take me there. I love Eddie Vedder. I think he's an extremely engaging person on both a professional and a personal level. Not sure I can fully say that he can carry an entire solo ukulele album though. That is ambitious. But I certainly respect him for trying.

Awesome. Plain and simple. Housse De Racket hail from Paris, and they've got a ton of potential. Be on the lookout for their album dropping August 22nd. They're fun. It's like a perfect marriage of Phoenix and Interpol??
