Hoodie Allen - James Franco
Hoodie has been around for a couple years now bouncing around the internet. He first caught our ear with his You Are Not A Robot take on Marina & The Diamonds. He's been on a pretty steady climb since. He's no stranger to TMD. But's it's been a while since he's been featured up here. He lost some luster for a bit, but he's back strong with this anthem named after non other than Mr. James Franco. His flow is back and he's got a solid beat to work with on this. I'm glad to see him bounce back after some of his recent work was either too experimental or just not as good as we've come to expect from the white boy from Penn. Good work Hoodie. Best line of the track : "If I were hipster I would have posted this on vimeo." So very true. He posted on youtube.

Portugal. The Man - Sleep Forever
We saw these guys last week at Terminal 5 which was as they deemed it their biggest show to date. They nailed it. Homeboy can sing too. Got that fantastic falsetto. Like an angel really. If you haven't checked them out, this is a good time to do so. They are about to blow up.

GoPro HD Hero2 is Pretty Sweet
Look, we can go on and on about the go pro camera. Say what you want. There are two types of users: There's the dink that wears it on his helmet and rips the blues at Stratton, and then there's these guys you see here in this video. Almost makes me want to get one. The song is: "We Can Make the World Stop" - The Glitch Mob

Justice - Helix
Holy Face Melt Batman! I feel that I start every Justice post with the same sentence. Which I will share with you once again: Every time I hear something new from Justice, it is better than the last. They are truly getting better with age. I also appreciate the classic rock influences that can be readily heard in their latest tracks. This album is going to be ridiculous, everything we've heard so far is top shelf.

Starfucker - Hungry Ghost
Not new, but this came on my ipod on shuffle today. And more people need to know about Starfucker. The band with a rather unfortunate name. Names aside, their album Reptilians is top shelf and worth a full download. We've featured them on TMD before. But sometimes, you need to dig back into the crates and give the people some more. A great song for a rainy Friday morning. Enjoy.

Further - The Official Trailer
Anxiously awaiting this release. For now, this will have to do. What Travis Rice has accomplished with That's It, That's All and The Art of Flight, Jeremy goes the opposite direction. No choppers. Just a man and the mountain. And that can be a pretty scary thing sometimes. Neither guy is right or wrong. It's just interesting to see two radically different ways of skinning the apple with equally insane results. Kudos to both of them.

Justice - Newlands
Sounds like the intro to ACDC's "For Those About To Rock" Justice continues to bring the heat. What else is new? Everything they touch turns into gold. And that's just fine by me. This track is a little slow to pick up with the ACDC-esque intro, building steadily until the Led Zepplin, "Whole Lotta Love"-esque breakdown and it's all perfect. I'm thoroughly appreciating the nods to classic rock in this track. Who says electronic music has no soul? Check them out at the Curator's Project in Brooklyn this weekend. it's FREE.

Skrillex – Bangarang (PockX Extended Edit)
Wow. I've been reluctant to give daps and hugs to Skrillex. Maybe it's his haircut. Maybe it's the fact that he was in a screamo band before "reinventing" himself as Skrillex. I guess in a way, I have resisted the whole dubstep movement. Most dubstep falls on deaf ears with me. But this track caught my attention. I'm still not ready to admit that I like dubstep, and think this is an anomaly. But it's certainly worthy of a post. This particular track should most likey melt your face off. So, listen with a friend. For safety's sake.
