The Ting Tings - One By One
I am really enjoying this latest Ting Tings track. Great synths and solid beat. A little departure from their signature sound of the past few years. It's actually quite a welcome change. Definitely digging it. Also thoroughly enjoying the Powell Peralta ablum artwork.

Germany Germany - Departure & Disconnect
Today is a exciting day. We had the pleasure of waking up to this little gem in our inbox. Drew Harris of Germany Germany fame is back from a self imposed hiatus. And he's got some tricks up his sleeve. We've got a couple tracks off his forthcoming album: Blank Mind Empty Heart for a little tease. I am thoroughly enjoying both tracks although Departure is more immediate. It has that dreamy, ethereal feel to it that instantly wisps you away to another place and time. I'm not quite sure what place and time it is, but it's comfortable and warm. Perfect for a chilly February Sunday.
Disconnect, on the other hand, makes you work for it. You've got to really listen. You won't be immediately drawn in like you are with Departure but you'll earn it though, and it's worth the wait as it builds and collects itself for a bold finish. Both tracks are beautiful in their own right. So please, give a listen and check out Germany Germany's bandcamp:

Gorillaz - DoYaThing
This is the latest collaboration from Converse's series: Three artist one song. Smashing together LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy, Andre 3000 and Damon Albarn of Gorrilaz. What do we think?

Santigold - Disparate Youth
It's been a while since we heard anything from Santigold. This is classic Santigold (or Santogold) depending on when you started listening to her. I like the electro/reggae beat and her whimsical flow carries on nicely. Carry on.

Jacob Sutton's L.E.D. Surfer
Jacob Sutton’s L.E.D. Surfer on Nowness.com. So simple. It's almost too easy. Daft Punk. Snowboarding. Done. Well, I guess not technically Daft Punk. But you can't honestly tell me you saw that dude in the L.E.D. jump suit and you and didn't think of Daft Punk. Fact. Right? Well, this is certainly a visually stunning video. I personally would have liked to have seen Travis Rice hooked up in this suit, but hey, the concept is cool on it's own right. I will also say that I was impressed to see this dude in the woods. I mean I thought it was tame until he hit the glades, that was pretty cool.

I Will Always Love You - Chris Cornell
This is gorgeous. I know Chris Cornell has chops. But even still, this exceeded all expectations. A gorgeous and soulful rendition. Haunting.

Gemini Club - By Surprise
And so our experiment continues: How many bands will use the word club in their name? Too many to count on one hand at this point. But all jokes aside. I like this track. It's fun and bubbly. Tough to not be in a good mood and move your ass when you listen to it. I like the Madonna synth thats featured throughout too.

Gotye - Someone That I Used To Know (Miami Nights 1984 Remix)
You spin me right round baby right round, like a record baby, right round round round. That comes to mind. It's a great, driving beat. Unstoppable. This is a top shelf remix right here. I like the slow build up. Well worth the wait. We'll have this on loop for a bit. Enjoy.

Nada Surf - Clear Eye Clouded Mind
So Nada Surf has definitely been on our radar lately. The new album is some of their best work since Let Go. I highly recommend picking it up. Each song holds its own weight and it's a good album to sit and listen in one sitting. The best kind. This is one of the stronger track off the album. Check it out!
Beanie Sigel - Glock Nines (Ratatat Remix)
This is definitely a throwback. But it's a damn good song for your Friday. Rediscovered this while waxing over some beers last night and thought it was worthy of a post. Even if it's not new, it's damn good. And worth a listen to take you into the weekend. I'd like to run some groomers in Aspen listening to this.

Greatest Wipeouts: Best of 2011
We posted a wipeout video earlier this year. But this one is even better! Honestly, all these guys have brass balls. There is nothing worse than a holdown. That feeling you get when you don't know which way is up and which way is down. You can't breathe and are on the verge of a blackout and then when you finally do make it to the surface to catch your breath, you open your eyes and: Oh, hello! There's another massive wall of water to give you a little smooch on the cheek. If you've been there, you know the feeling. Vaya con Dios, brah.

And this is GoPro's slightly more cinematic highlight reel. Just making everything epic. Can't get much more slow-mo than that.
