The Art of Flight - Premiered In NYC

The scene was set.The Beacon Theater was taken over last night by the snowboard world and Justin Timberlake and everybody was ready to finally see what had been one of the best/worst kept secrets in the snowboarding world: The world premiere of “The Art of Flight”. The mood was electric and everyone was amped to be there and ready to party. As Curt Morgan told the audience. “You are the first people in the world to see this. Not even the riders have seen this in its entirety.” What we saw was magic.

Travis Rice would call it epic. Others would agree. To see this film on the big screen with Dolby Digital Sound fully cranked up makes the hair on the back of your neck stick up. It was simply cinematic bliss. For a short time, the outside world ceased to exist and the only thing that mattered was The Art of Flight.

There were a lot of questions as to whether Curt Morgan, Travis Rice and his merry band of rippers could possibly raise the bar they set with “That’s It, That’s All” three years ago. Those questions have been answered. They can. The cinematography is top shelf and evokes a “Planet Earth” HD quality to it, every shot is perfect from every angle. The soundtrack is perfectly on point, and the riders, obviously nail their parts as well. From spines to chutes and backcountry kickers to untouched AK faces they rip it all. On a scale that has never been seen before. I could go on and on about this. But at the end of the day, you should just go see it. You must see it. Don’t even think about it. Just do it. If you are fortunate enough to live in a city where they are touring,go to the premiere. If not, download it today, it just released. And get stoked for winter.
