Cities Aviv - Coastin

Last post of 2011. It's been an interesting one to say the least. Here's to having good times with good people. Props to Buckley on this one. Cities Aviv is coming to us straight out of Memphis. This is just straight up good hip hop. No two ways about it. We don't like much hip hop here, but when we do. We really like it. Seems like an appropriate way to close out 2011. Happy New Year.

I hope you guys have had a chance to watch this series. It's well worth taking the time and watching it in sequence. totally brilliant.

Fighting Fear

This looks amazing. Some of those waves towards the end look mental. Also, it's from Macario De Souza who directed Bra Boys. Which was also an amazing film worth checking out if you have not already.

Miike Snow - Devil's Work (Alex Metric Remix)

Miike Snow is back. After an extensive and exhausting world tour. Believe me, it was exhausting. I saw them kick off the tour, and caught their final show of the tour. It was like seeing two different bands. They were amazing in the first show, and awful in the second. They desperately needed to get some new material. Now they have some. They have released a single from their upcoming album. Bring on the remixes. Miike Snow - Devil's Work (Alex Metric Remix) by alexmetric

The Glitch Mob - We Can Make The World Stop

We featured these guys a while back in the GoPro HD Hero video we put up. But in case you missed it. This track is not new, but seems like you should hear it again today. It should definitely be on your winter shred mix.

M83 - Midnight City (Remix Par Who Killed JR)

In keeping with the Captain Obvious theme we've had going this weekend, I present you with yet another rendition of M83's otherwise perfect overture: Midnight City. I actually enjoy this one quite a bit. And while I think the song should just stand on its own, it's inevitable that this thing will be chopped and screwed a dozen ways from Sunday for the next year. This is what I deem to be the best thus far. I particularly like the piano in the intro and breakdown. He adds another layer of synth which is subtle yet tasteful. The rest of the track pretty much let's Mr. Gonzalez's original version shine through. That's how it should be.

Avicii - Levels (Skrillex Remix)

I mean, this is a bit gratuitous. At this point I'm sure you've heard something about this mix. It was already the most hyped and played out track of the year, so why wouldn't Skrillex - Mr. Awful Haircut & Glasses himself remix it? And shut down the internet while he's at it. It's like Armageddon if you love dubstep and house, lock the doors and turn out the lights. It's all over. On a side note, it's pretty decent.

Girl Walk - All Day

Girl Walk // All Day: Chapter 1 from Girl Walk // All Day on Vimeo.

This should prove to be pretty amazing. Girl Talk's entire album All Day as danced through the streets of New York City. Brilliant. It's slow in the beginning put Girl Talk drops the hammer at the 2:25 mark.

Chromeo - Hot Mess (Duck Sauce Remix)

It's not new. But that doesn't matter. I was digging around the archives last night and stumbled upon this little gem. Seems like a nice way to send it into the weekend. Chromeo and Duck Sauce is a fitting pair. This remix is magical. Enjoy it. A good song to put your pants on to, or take someone elses off. Ghost Beach - First Time

It's been a minute since I've heard a track that grabbed me right off the bat. Finally I get that familiar feeling back thanks to NYC duo Ghost Beach. As soon as that synthesizer kicks in, you just know its going to be good. I'm looking forward to hearing more from these guys. Turn it up. It's addicting.

This Is My Winter - Full Length Film

If you haven't heard of Xavier De La Rue, now you have. He is by far the ballsiest and most badass mountaineer in the snowboard world right now. And I say mountaineer because that is what he is. He is descending some of the gnarliest terrain on the planet in ways that the world has never seen. I attended the premiere of TB20 last week in New York and had a chance to see Xavier's part in that film. It's about 5 minutes long. It does him no justice. This film, This is My Winter, which he made about his season and the search for getting his video part shots is far more interesting and thrilling. Give this a watch when you've got a good half an hour to fully appreciate what this guy is doing. It's white knuckle stuff. My hat is off to Xavier and his gang. Great work guys. Keep pushing forward.

Deadmou5 Live in London

Thanks to Sully for sending this one in. Say what you want about Deadmou5, but the guy certainly knows how to put on a show. These are some pretty sweet visuals to say the least.
